New Music Festival - Spotlight No. 2: Music of Leo Brouwer

The 12th annual New Music Festival will feature 2018 composer-in-residence Leo Brouwer. Lisa Leonard, director.

Cuban composer, guitarist and music director, Leo Brouwer became an UNESCO composer in 1987. He holds degrees from the Juilliard and Hartt School on Music. A student of Vincent Persichetti, his compositions reflect classical, Afro-Cuban, jazz and avant-garde influences. A prolific composer, he has written hundreds of works including the film score for Like Water for Chocolate.
