The novels of the Brontë sisters are world classics, but how did the isolated offspring of a clergyman in the Yorkshire moors create towering novels that have influenced the way we look at love and human relationships? If you are intrigued by the Brontës, but don’t know the novels (or haven’t read them since high school), you can rediscover their beauty in this course that examines the two most-popular stories via the original and feature film interpretations.
Nell Waldman has a Ph.D. in English from Queen’s University. She taught literature and composition at Centennial College in Toronto for 26 years. She has also taught courses on short fiction and 19th-century novels at Lifelong Learning Society at Florida Atlantic University.
