Author Bio: Ann Hood is the author of fifteen novels, including the bestsellers “The Knitting Circle”, “The Red Thread”, “The Obituary Writer”, and “The Book That Matters Most”. She is also the author of the Treasure Chest Series for middle readers, and the editor of “Knitting Yarns” and “Knitting Pearls”, anthologies of writers writing about knitting, and “Providence Noir”. The recipient of two Best American Food Writing Awards, a Best American Spiritual Writing Award, a Best American Travel Writing Award, two Pushcart Prizes, and the Paul Bowles Prize for short fiction. Her newest book is a memoir, “Morningstar: Growing Up Reading”. “The Book That Matters Most” celebrates the transformative power of reading. When Ava’s husband of twenty-five years leaves her, she joins a book club for companionship and to rediscover the joys of reading. The theme that year is The Book That Matters Most. As she reads the group’s choices, from “Pride and Prejudice” to “The Great Gatsby”, Ava reconnects with forgotten parts of herself. But it is her own choice, a book she read long ago, that opens the doors to her past and forces her to reconcile those events so that she can move forward into her new future. About the Facilitator Brewer Mullins Schoeller was born in London, and raised in London and Beirut. Throughout her life, she has lived in America and abroad, and has traveled extensively. She is now happily settled into Florida life, and spends her time between Palm Beach and Martha’s Vineyard.
