Grape Stomp Wine Tastings with Howard Freedland
The Society of the Four Arts
An important word in wine is terroir or sense of place. Taste wines from Demessey of Burgundy and La Ferme du Mont in the Rhone Valley to explore the beauty of dirt, because nothing helps us understand why the same wines from different places taste unique.
Dubbed by Robert Parker as one of the world’s most environmentally sensitive producers, Viña Caliterra winery in Chile is a pioneered an approach to crafting sustainable wines. Their high standards of environmental quality include protecting the health of the consumers and workers, actively working to unite the community, and preserving the natural landscape for future generations. Howard Freedland’s passion for the wine began while he was working for Binny’s Beverage Depot in Chicago, and continued with pioneering a brokerage firm called BulletProof Wine and Spirits. He is currently the southeast regional manager for Seaview Imports.
