The Palm Beaches Theatre
The Palm Beaches Theatre is the new home of the Palm Beach International Film Festival (PBIFF), now entering its 21st year. Located in the Plaza Del Mar Shopping Center in Manalapan, just south of Palm Beach on the island, this 250-seat multi-use house was formerly The Plaza Theatre. Under that operator, from 2012 to 2014, the venue specialized in live entertainment. Prior to that, Florida Stage occupied the space from 1987 to 2010. Our 17,200 square foot facility includes the main theater building, an Equity house consisting of 8,700 square feet, as well as a separate two-story building overlooking the Intracoastal Waterway. That building ("The Conservatory") contains 8,500 square feet for additional events including performances, rehearsals, classes, and parties, along with office space. PBIFF moved into the complex after the 20th Annual Festival in April 2015.
A brand new film projection system was installed along with upgraded sound and lighting. The public spaces have been completely renovated. Returning visitors have marveled at the bright new lobby, including dazzling artwork in both the downstairs lobby and our upstairs gallery.
The Palm Beaches Theatre will play host to film screenings as well as live performances, including comedy, one-man/woman shows, plays, concerts, lectures, and seminars. Television and movie production is scheduled to take place here, as well, along with classes, private parties, yoga, and a summer camp. In the Spring, the Theatre will be the flagship location of the Palm Beach International Film Festival, hosting screenings, parties, and providing hospitality for attending filmmakers and VIPs
