The Dancers' Space
The Dancers’ Space (TDS) is an organization founded on the belief that meaningful, artistic, and provocative dance is alive and well in So. Florida. It is the mission of TDS to provide a “space” for pre-professional and professional dancers, dance educators and choreographers to continue the study and practice of their craft through modern technique classes, choreography labs and professional performance and networking opportunities. Specifically, TDS connects dancers in the community to the well-established organizations of the Kravis Center and the Duncan Theatre by offering unique opportunities to further their education and training in modern and contemporary dance; to participate in workshops and festivals; and to contribute to the art form in a facilitated environment. Because of the partnership with the Kravis Center and the Duncan Theatre, TDS is able to provide the dance community with experiences never before easily available to local artists. As the programs initiated and developed through TDS continue to grow, So. Florida may be “on the map” as a destination for dance artists to work and live, as they contribute to the vibrant cultural fabric comprised of and valued by this community.
