    Resume:

    SUSAN ANDREASEN

Born in Winston Salem, North Carolina Susan Andresen began painting at age two alongside her mother. She studied at the Parson School of Design in New York City to develop her talent in Fashion Design. Susan had the privilege to have studied under Andy Warhol and began her career in fashion illustration.

After taking some time off and traveling over 9,000 miles on a boat for four and a half years along the Coast of the United States, Susan was intrigued that there was an absence of nature. In anticipation of searching for wildlife, she had to travel out about twenty miles prior to seeing any nature.

Today Susan Andreasen is an “Eco-Artist” who has devoted her career as an environmentalist and endangered species advocate. She has dedicated her career toward promoting green consumerism and environmental awareness in her artwork. Susan has been working on ecologically motivated artistry for nearly a decade. Her purpose is to save endangered nature and ultimately she would like to preserve the environment as a whole. A portion of the sales of every Susan Andreasen painting is donated to an environmental or endangered species related charity.

Combining conventional and natural art has been successfully achieved by Susan. She regularly teaches her methods to students in workshops. The techniques of contemporary art should be applied to the subject matter of the environment. This technique of combining nature with contemporary art is the beginning of a new art form established by Susan described as “Eco-Art”. In the Twenty-First Century, “I believe man and art have become alienated from nature, says Susan. By denying nature, we deny a part of ourselves and an appreciation of nature, thus preventing man from realizing his full potential.”
