Art Deco Goes to Egypt
Mandel Public Library of West Palm Beach
Join author and award-winning mural artist Sharon Koskoff for an art talk as she lays out the fascinating connection between the Art Deco movement and Ancient Egypt. Look closely at the elevator doors of the Chrysler Building and how the design looks like the reeds depicted on an Egyptian scroll, or how the Cartier Temple Clock is curiously similar to an Ancient Egyptian temple. Sharon is the president of the Art Deco Society of the Palm Beaches and enjoys connecting art with architecture. She will have books available for purchase and signing.
