Finding Mrs. Ford with author Deborah Goodrich Royce
The Society of the Four Arts
What if everything you’ve worked so hard to overcome and forget about your past — including the person you used to be, 35 years and another lifetime ago — abruptly came crashing back?
That’s the nightmare at the center of Deborah Goodrich Royce’s debut novel, Finding Mrs. Ford. Drawing on her memorable past as an actress, starting with her role in the daytime drama All My Children as Silver Kane (scheming sister of the legendary Erica Kane) and her talents as a screenplay editor and writer, Royce unravels a complex tale of two women — the pulled-together, conscientious, and accomplished Susan Bentley Ford and the charismatic, reckless Annie Nelson — whose lives become intertwined in progressively unsettling and startling ways.
Alternating between the unsettling present and harrowing past, Finding Mrs. Ford gradually reveals the truth about Susan and Samuel Fakhouri. Finding Mrs. Ford is a novel about universal themes — friendship, love, grief, and the remarkable human capacity for resilience — from a writer who excels at her craft.
The Florida Voices series offers you the opportunity to engage in meaningful dialog with celebrated Florida authors. Each program features a presentation by the author, a Q&A, and a book signing.
Florida Voices is generously supported by the Fred J. Brotherton Endowment for Literature, established at The Four Arts by the Fred J. Brotherton Charitable Foundation.
