SOUL ON ART: GHOSTS OF AFRICA (January 26 - March 10, 2021)
Soul on Art: Ghosts of Africa features work by significant brown and black artists, including Leonardo Drew, Adam Pendleton, William Kwamenah-Poh, Kara Walker, and Purvis Young. These accomplished painters, sculptors, and multimedia artists have created work held in prestigious collections including, the Metropolitan Museum of Art and the Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum. The exhibition presents thought-provoking and evocative artworks inspired by the artists’ personal experiences and cultural heritage. This is a must-see for anyone compelled to explore the effects of the African diaspora on some of today’s most successful contemporary artists. While some of the pieces are available for purchase, others are on loan from private collections.
