Lighthouse ArtCenter inspires the senses with textile exhibition ‘Stitched’ April 28 - May 27, 2021

Tequesta, Fla. – The Lighthouse ArtCenter inspires the senses with “Stitched,” an exhibition celebrating the art of textiles. Collections from textile artists will be on display including Kirk Ke Wang’s, “Landscape of Human Skins.” Ke Wang’s work incorporates abandoned pieces of clothing, or “skins,” left behind by humanity through a series of large-scaled colorful, mixed media collages. He utilizes clothing worn by refugees and others to create a story of meaningful, thought-provoking compositions. In contrast to these large-scaled pieces, gallery visitors can explore the diversity of textile art through the work of several distinguished artists’ weavings, embroideries, quilts, tapestries and more. The exhibition is available in-person and virtually with all textile art available for purchase. Admission is free to members and $5 for non-members. For more information, visit

“This exhibition is made for those among us who wrap ourselves in the soft embrace of beautiful fabrics, enhance our homes with texture and color, and luxuriate in the uncommon and well-make. Visitors to Stitched should come prepared to be thoroughly inspired by this carefully selected display of artists, designers and world-class makers,” says Curator, Janeen Mason.

“Stitched” can be enjoyed by the whole community, and be especially inspiring for those who took comfort during the pandemic through knitting, embroidery, quilting and other tactile hobbies. The ArtCenter is following CDC health and safety recommendations and is taking many precautions to ensure the safety of visitors, including increased cleaning, social distancing and a mask requirement.
